US Steel Gary Works Career Development Center

USWA/US Steel Career Development is a Union and Company negotiated benefit to Union Employees. There are always new and exciting activities for you to participate in at US Steel Career Development. Our curriculum consists of everything from welding to computers. If there is something you have always wanted to learn, but may not have been able to in the past, stop in and see what we have to offer.

USWA/US Steel Career Development, which was first put into the contract in 1989, started at Midwest Operations in Fall 1992. The first year, there was an 8% participation rate.

Since our humble beginnings we have grown tremendously and for the past four years have had over 30% participation.

We hope this website will assist our students and help them to achieve their goals and keep their dreams alive.
